Forgive a bit of self promotion. Spending years treating patients with post-infectious chronic fatigue syndromes, I have taken a particular interest in my patients experiencing Long-COVID and the literature about its symptoms, the data on the physiology of the disease, and the treatments that work. Currently available on Kindle, in paperback, and on Audible.
Have you had doctors tell you to get better sleep, but you feel you’ve tried everything? While nothing can beat formal sleep therapy with a trained psychotherapist, the tools in this book can help anyone get started.
One of my most recommended books for migraine management. In it, Dr. Buchholz reviews some of the basic science of headache management, a clear way to search for triggers, and how to tackle them one by one. Consider getting this book to find out more.
Whether you have chronic pain from a knee injury, chronic headaches, or neuropathy, Dr. Levine’s book is a must read. He explores the psychological aspects underlying the brain network malfunctions leading to central sensitization and teaches straight forward techniques to reducing the pain and interrupting the pain/trauma cycle. Consider reading this book and getting copies for your friends.
One of the most well established diets for neurological health has been the Mediterranean diet. Most people see a list of “allowed ingredients” and give up, but I’ve found this guide to be much more informative and helpful. Consider learning more with this book today.
Another migraine specific book, less focused on the Mediterranean approach specifically. Alicia Wolf was like my dizzy patients. She found her migraines were much better with removal of certain triggers. Her triggers may not be your triggers, but my patients have enjoyed this book as a good place to start.
